andrea_727717 Nov 2012 15:56Hello,
after designing my dream wardrobe with four 75cm (30 inches) wide white carcasses and an interior layout that is perfect for me, I started looking for suitable doors. I searched and searched and thought it must be a mistake that IKEA’s website doesn’t offer matching sliding doors for the 3-meter (10 feet) width. There are plenty of 3-meter sliding doors, but not for four 75cm carcasses. So I went to the IKEA store. Unfortunately, they could only tell me that the combination I want doesn’t exist. Apparently, it’s due to the tracks. The 3-meter sliding doors only come with tracks that fit carcasses of 1 meter (39 inches) and 50cm (20 inches) widths. Strangely, I can combine four sliding doors with four 75cm carcasses—so there must be suitable tracks. They are just included in the wrong door packages. Using four doors isn’t an option for me since that would be a lot of sliding back and forth...
Now my questions:
1. Does anyone see a way to fit sliding doors to my four 75cm carcass setup? I still find it hard to believe IKEA doesn’t want the €600 from me. And IKEA is usually quite flexible.
2. An alternative would be a creative sliding curtain or drapery solution. Does anyone have experience with that?
Thanks a lot in advance for your answers

The main issue, or rather the only one, is the bottom guide rail of the sliding doors. For the three-meter (about 10 feet) doors, it is always cut out at 50cm (20 inches) because the wardrobe is originally designed as a combination of 100cm (40 inches) and 50cm (20 inches) units.
To work with the 75cm (30 inches) units, you have to cut the guide rail at the bottom. Unfortunately, this understandably voids the warranty, but it is the only option.

andrea_727718 Nov 2012 09:26Is there a particular reason why only 100cm (39 inches) and 50cm (20 inches) modules should be used for a 3m (10 feet) wardrobe? The 75cm (30 inches) modules are much easier to arrange. In principle, there must be different tracks available. I can use the 75cm (30 inches) modules if I use 150cm (59 inches) sliding doors... Is there any way to get these tracks separately? I think IKEA should also offer the option to connect the 300cm (10 feet) doors with 75cm (30 inches) modules.
The doors are simply too expensive for me to give up the warranty. The alternative would be to use only 100cm (39 inches) and 50cm (20 inches) modules or four sliding doors, and I don’t want either of those. So, a curtain after all!? Or no new wardrobe at all?
