Our garage has doors at both the front and the back. The front area will be paved – everything is planned and straightforward so far. At the back, we drive the lawn mower in. There is a height difference of about 15-20cm (6-8 inches) from the lawn to the finished floor level. So, we need a small ramp. We could pave back there as well, but for just 15cm (6 inches), that seems like too much effort. If I install a proper rubber mat as waterproofing against the house wall, could I simply fill in with soil? Or would that be a bad idea?

A ramp is often a suitable sheet metal piece, which can also be undersized (for example, gate width 240 cm (94 inches), ramp width 200 cm (79 inches)).
