Our garage has doors at both the front and the back. The front area will be paved – everything is planned and straightforward so far. At the back, we drive the lawn mower in. There is a height difference of about 15-20cm (6-8 inches) from the lawn to the finished floor level. So, we need a small ramp. We could pave back there as well, but for just 15cm (6 inches), that seems like too much effort. If I install a proper rubber mat as waterproofing against the house wall, could I simply fill in with soil? Or would that be a bad idea?

As a ramp, you could perhaps install grass paver blocks at an incline?

A splash guard strip on the house wall wouldn’t be a bad idea. Please explain in more detail how the garage, ramp, and house wall are connected! Do you have a photo?

A ramp is often a suitable sheet metal piece, which can also be undersized (for example, gate width 240 cm (94 inches), ramp width 200 cm (79 inches)).

It is always better to have a paved strip.

I can take pictures this evening – I’m at work right now. That way it will be easier to see and explain.

Can you just lay grass pavers directly on the ground? Or do I need a base layer with gravel, etc.?

I would actually prefer not to use metal sheets.

As long as you only plan to mow over it with a lawn mower, I don’t think a gravel layer is necessary. However, I haven’t installed one myself yet. It was more intended as brainstorming.
