Hello

we are planning a new semi-detached house.

We want to install a photovoltaic system later on.
We will get the right half shown in the photo. Orientation is southwest.

The photovoltaic system will of course be installed on the southwest side facing the garden.

The black area is the 3x5 m (10x16 ft) terrace, which will later be covered with a fixed terrace roof measuring 4 m (13 ft) deep and 5.5 m (18 ft) wide.

My question is whether it will still be possible to install a photovoltaic system on the roof once the fixed terrace roof is there?

If the terrace roof is on the southwest side in the garden, it will no longer be possible to set up scaffolding.
For maintenance or in case of problems, access to the photovoltaic system will be necessary later on (is access without scaffolding not possible?)

Or can the photovoltaic system be installed without scaffolding?

The house will have a gable roof and 2.5 full stories.

I should have fully utilized the house from the start as well...
I'm sure there will be times again soon when people will be glad to have a bit of roof over their heads. Somehow, you have to stay motivated for the necessary eightfold increase in annual construction. ;-)

There are hardly any components available for photovoltaic systems anymore. Long delivery times or completely unavailable. Prices are also rising sharply, just like everywhere else.

Not to mention the capacities of solar companies, electricians, and installation firms. Expansion is hardly progressing anymore. At least not as quickly.

On top of that, all the dependencies. There is hardly any photovoltaic module production or inverters in Germany, for example. Everything depends on Asian suppliers.
At the moment, we can hardly do anything. Extreme energy prices combined with broken supply chains.

It will only get worse. So take the opportunity and don’t wait too long.

Actually, the energy should be taken on the DC side when charging the battery.
That means, calculated this way, it amounts to 269 full cycles.

I have just received a quote of nearly 18,000 (currency) for 8.1 kWp. The battery storage is supposed to cost about 5,000 (currency) for 8 kWh. While the battery storage almost seems affordable, the rest is expensive... I'm really starting to doubt whether it’s better to wait or not.

I have now also received an offer. A follow-up consultation is still pending, as a few things are unclear.

For example, the east side will not be covered at all because there is a chimney there.

Then there are only 2 strings even though 3 sides of the roof will be covered.

And the system covers 11 kW—why not stay below the 10 kW limit? Creating such an effort with the tax advisor just for 1 kW seems excessive.
