4 nights already slept in the new home 🙂 And very well, with 2 nights being quite restful.
Although there are still numerous appointments to be made with contractors for necessary touch-ups, we are gradually settling in. The kitchen was the first area to be unpacked... I've realized I’m missing a drawer for cooking and other utensils.
I’m still hesitant to start cooking because there are so many user manuals to read first.
The dishwasher baskets in my old one were better...
I wore out my mother’s mop; there’s still dust on the tiles everywhere. I’m going to buy a new one for both of us 🙂 The freezer’s contents are all on the floor since the furniture intended for that space is still stuck in the far corner of the study. But the study is full of moving boxes at the front.
The stairs still have temporary steps – a cool shabby style 😀
Upstairs in the hallway, the bare screed floor is exposed – we’ll lay the carpet only after the stair installers have finished.
Small paintbrushes are waiting to be used for wall repairs.
Our receiver cannot handle being switched on and off with a single switch that controls the TV and other devices; the picture has a yellow tint 🙁
When I look outside, all I see is sand, sand, and more sand... and weeds and mortar residues.
There isn’t much left in the fridge – I haven’t left the house much today because of scheduled phone calls.

Moving in is just the beginning of a long process! But I’m happy!

Wow, I just noticed you have almost the same bamboo flooring as we do... hopefully yours is a bit more durable 😀

Oh, is it that bad??? What finish do you have? Lacquered or oiled? For us, it will only be installed in the office/guest room.

painted.
Every time a chair was moved, it caused scratches, and my little son managed to make noticeable dents in the hardwood floor with simple building blocks (14 months old). Every dust particle leaves a mark. Unfortunately, dust cannot be fully avoided, as the exterior landscaping still has to wait.

Hmm, maybe we should wait a little longer before installing the floor covering?!
At the moment, the room is being used as storage since the finishing work wasn’t completed before moving in.

I might provide an update later. There are only two of us, and we usually wear socks. 😉

I think it works fine in secondary rooms, but under the dining table—tough conditions... I would never do that again....

Right now, there are two rugs there, which look nice, but that wasn’t the original plan....

If you choose hardwood flooring, stick to strip parquet. You simply can’t damage that....

Or go straight for plank flooring 🙂

But well, not everything can be perfect 😀

Carpets… I still need two large ones as well. Have you bought really nice carpets, and if so, where?

There are two rugs measuring 2.50 x 2.00 meters (8.2 x 6.6 feet), giving a total area of 2.5 x 4.0 meters (8.2 x 13.1 feet). They fit just right under the dining table and leave enough space to move the chairs without constantly damaging the edges of the rugs.

We bought two cheap polyester woven rugs... they have to be washable. Purchased at MöMax...

It’s not perfect, but better than always seeing all the scratches 🙂
