I am curious to know which ceiling height you chose and why.

If applicable, also from the basement if you built one.

We paid an extra 2000 euros (including taller windows), so it wasn’t very much. Previously, we had 2.50m (8 ft 2 in) and you can clearly notice the difference; it just looks much better now.
What window height or interior door height did you choose?

We also have finished ceiling heights of 2.70 m (9 ft) on the ground floor and 2.55 m (8 ft 4 in) on the upper floor. The doors are 2.33 m (7 ft 8 in) high throughout. I think this greatly enhances the sense of space, as the standard 2.45 m (8 ft) would definitely have felt too low.

Doors 2.33 meters (7 feet 8 inches) high, but how wide? They should be at least 1 meter (3 feet 3 inches) wide; otherwise, they don’t look right.

For some reason, the ceiling heights in our house are reversed. We have 2.70m (8 ft 10 in) on the upper floor and only 2.50m (8 ft 2 in) on the ground floor. We only noticed this after the shell of the building was already completed.

Neither of us is very tall, so 2.50m (8 ft 2 in) is actually more than enough. My parents have only 2.40m (7 ft 10 in) in their attic apartment. I find that really cozy. Higher ceilings feel less cozy but more spacious.

Since we are now planning a loft bed for the child on the upper floor, the 2.70m (8 ft 10 in) ceiling height there is actually quite practical.

Exactly, our doors are 1.05 meters (41 inches) wide, flush hinged.

We have doors measuring 2.11 meters by 90 centimeters (7 feet by 35 inches), but like in your case, that size works well. However, at 1.75 meters (5 feet 9 inches), I would be too short for such large doors.

At the time, we didn’t want flush doors because of their poorer sound insulation and the fact that we found the look too plain. I also believe they were more expensive.
