Hello
I have a question for the IKEA experts:
We are currently planning an IKEA kitchen and want to install a Ringskär faucet on the sink.
Unfortunately, the only suitable spot for the sink is in front of the window, and with the Ringskär faucet installed, the window cannot be fully opened. I noticed that the Ringskär has a screw at the back, and I assume that if you unscrew it, you can remove the curved pipe from the faucet.
Since we want the Ringskär with a pull-out spray, I imagine that if I want to fully open the window, I could simply loosen the screw at the back, remove the curved pipe, place it in the sink, and then open the window.
Would that work as I am imagining?
Best regards

Hello,
that can work, but it won’t hold up well in the long run because the screw is not designed for that purpose. As a result, it will loosen over time.
Also, the plastic ring inside will eventually break or become worn out...

However, there is a mixer tap like that. Not from IKEA, but you might want to look it up online. We had one too, especially because our window otherwise couldn’t be opened.

Thank you!
Well, a double casement window will be installed there, and it will only affect the second sash, meaning the main sash will always be operable.
I think the second sash will only be opened occasionally, so I could try it with the ring gasket.
Alternatively, I could also install the window with a fixed glass panel in the lower section, which would position the actual window higher and prevent it from hitting the mixer tap at all.
But it's good to know that using a screw would be an emergency solution...

There are such mixer faucets, but they are not exactly cheap. We also had one in our old apartment, and it cost over 200€ (about 220 USD). There is no upper limit...
