Hello everyone,
Due to my current problem, I’m new here.
It concerns the Brimnes bed, specifically point 31 in the manual.
There, screws with protective caps are shown to be attached to the right and left aluminum rails as well as the center beam—assuming you look at the left illustration.
In the right illustration, these are crossed out.
Photo 1 and 2 only differ in that one shows a slatted frame (lattenrost) and the other doesn’t.
Um... but everyone needs/uses a slatted frame, right?!
Can someone help me? I purchased the Laxeby sprung slatted frame, and because of the screws now installed, it does NOT rest on the rails but on the screws themselves. Common sense tells me this can’t be right, but… why are they there?
Does anyone have any advice?
Thank you very much!

IKEA-Experte20 May 2014 17:24Hello,
the illustration in the manual is really confusing.
In a slatted roll-up base, the slats are only attached to a single tape. To prevent the slats from sliding together, spacers are used.

Jennyerde24 Jan 2015 22:49Hello,
I am currently facing the same problem as you, but I haven’t quite figured out yet whether I need the screws or if I can simply skip them :/
I have the Lönset slatted spring frame, so not a roll slat base...
I would appreciate it if you could quickly let me know whether I need the screws or not.
Thanks in advance.
