Hello everyone,
I am currently planning a small bathroom. The toilet is located diagonally opposite the bathtub. There is a passage of only 32cm (13 inches) between the bathtub and the toilet. I’m having trouble estimating whether this is too narrow. What do you think? Is that too tight?
I’ve attached a floor plan.
I also have a question about the second bathroom (no floor plan):
There is 20cm (8 inches) of space between the wall and the washbasin, 20cm (8 inches) between the washbasin and the toilet, and only 20cm (8 inches) between the toilet and the wall.
Does that feel too cramped, or do you think it would work?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Hanno

olibaumeister11 Jun 2013 14:55Hello,
in my previous apartment, the bathroom had a passage width of 40cm (15.7 inches) between the wall and the washbasin to get to the shower behind it. That was really at the limit of what was tolerable, so I would say it seems too narrow. You might be able to get through, but for example, a pregnant friend of mine had a lot of trouble passing through. So, better to avoid if possible...

Is a bathtub really necessary? How often has it been used recently? These questions should first be answered personally. And 32cm (12.6 inches) is definitely too narrow.
