Dear home builders,

I’m new to the forum and would like to ask for your ideas regarding the bathroom in our new single-family house.

Although 13 sqm (140 sq ft) is quite spacious for a shower bathroom, I find myself struggling to come up with a clever design.

Or is the homemade model already good enough, and should I focus on styling the look with accessories, etc.? I also thought about adding a drywall partition for the toilet, with built-in shelves.

The entire house will have a simple and rather minimalist style, but without being cold. Lots of white and subtle natural tones. Floor tiles in natural stone look, ivory, similar to Jura stone.

Attached is the floor plan. I’m open to any ideas, suggestions, or criticism. The window door can still be positioned freely.

Thanks in advance!

However, since my partner will retire in a few years and wants to work more from home beforehand, I started thinking... hoping we don’t get in each other’s way.

But he’s not working from the bathroom, is he? My husband now gets up earlier than I do... on weekends it’s different. When he retires soon, he’ll stay in bed longer while I get ready. And when we’re both retired, you can always ask who goes first. If I can stay in bed 10 minutes (longer) or am already/ still working in the kitchen, it works out.
A double vanity is enough for two. Unless he or you is so messy that it causes arguments.
The real luxury is counter space, which most don’t have or even plan for. So incredibly valuable!!! 🙂

If he works from home in the bathroom, he’ll be banned from the house and will have to sleep in the sauna.

But you’re right about the storage, and that’s how we’ll do it now. We’re generally not the type anyway... you need to have it, you need to have it...

Thanks for the support and sunny regards!
