Hello everyone,

I have already assembled so many IKEA furniture pieces (including a kitchen) and so far, with a bit of tinkering, I have always managed everything— for example, the Rationell drawer for waste separation turned out great.

However, my latest purchase, the Hemnes TV bench 183cm (72 inches) with 3 drawers, is driving me crazy:

- One drawer (the left one) fits perfectly.
- But the middle and right drawers don’t close all the way. On the left side of each, the closing stops before the drawer is fully pushed in.
You can neither see nor feel what’s causing the obstruction or stop.

I’ve already ruled out the usual suspects: screws are in the correct places and fully tightened; the rails are correctly installed (left and right); the drawer sides are the right ones (the drawers are correctly assembled overall); the back panel, shelves, wooden supports, etc. are also mounted with the correct screws in the right holes... the side panels are all oriented correctly...

... the plastic parts that secure the drawer to the rails are in place (but if not, it doesn’t matter—they work fine without them)...

... as I said, I’ve checked all the classic issues you typically encounter sooner or later in your IKEA furniture assembly experience...

Has anyone else had this (or a similar) problem? Can anyone share their experience with these common issues? I haven’t found anything about this here in the forum.

Thanks very much and best regards from Upper Bavaria

Take another close look at pages 26/27 of the manual. The rails in the left compartment are fastened differently than those in the middle and right compartments (different screw holes).

Thank you

That was obviously the cause. And I was so sure that I had counted everything correctly. Oops.

Thank you very much for the quick help.
