Hello everyone, I am currently looking into storage boxes that fit perfectly into the IKEA Platsa systems. The Platsa modules are very flexible, but the internal dimensions can be tricky to work with when using small or medium-sized boxes. My question is whether there are specific storage solutions designed specifically to match the Platsa dimensions, or if you have any recommendations for third-party manufacturers or DIY options that integrate well without wasting too much space. Important criteria for me are stackability and stability, as I often store somewhat heavier items. Who has experience with this and perhaps concrete product recommendations or tips for efficient use of the modules?

For Platsa, I use simple storage boxes measuring 35x35 cm (14x14 inches), which usually fit well. Plastic boxes with handles have proven to be practical. Important: don't overfill them, or they might get stuck.

I recommend boxes measuring 36 x 36 cm (14 x 14 inches) for most PLATSA modules. Many manufacturers offer sizes like these. This helps you avoid wasted space and jamming.

I understand your concern well, min36. Keeping things organized in the PLATSA system not only helps you find items quickly but also creates a more pleasant feeling in your workspace. I experimented for a long time myself and ended up using a combination of custom-sized fabric boxes for lighter items and sturdy plastic boxes for heavier parts. This gives me the comfort and stability you described. Sometimes it’s also helpful to fill the gaps between the boxes with foam cutouts to prevent shifting, which adds a solid feeling when taking items out.
