Hello everyone,

I am looking for suitable door stoppers for my IKEA Kallax shelving unit that prevent the doors from hitting the furniture or closing too forcefully. Does anyone know of affordable and, above all, reliable door stoppers that can be easily ordered from online retailers? I am specifically interested in products that fit well with the Kallax design and are not too expensive—preferably in the lower price range. Maybe there are special models that are particularly suitable for the narrow doors of the Kallax?

I look forward to your tips and recommendations!

This is a really important requirement because I recently struggled to find a solution that was not only affordable but also durable. I ordered a few different door stoppers and was surprised by how much the quality varied. With a cheap model, the rubber gave way pretty quickly, which was quite frustrating.

For Kallax, I personally find silicone stoppers great; they are easy to install and don’t damage the plastic doors. Maybe something like that would be interesting for you too? I totally understand – when it comes to furniture, you don’t want to start an expensive DIY project, but rather find a practical solution that works.

I often order from Amazon or eBay. There, you can find simple rubber door stoppers starting at 3 euros each. For Kallax units, the small round ones that you stick to the inside of the door with adhesive tape work well. They are effective and hold up even with some moisture.

I think this is a very important question, thank you for bringing it up.

It was similar for me: I wanted affordable door stoppers that are not only functional but also visually match the Kallax shelving unit, since it is in our living room. In the end, I ordered small elastic stoppers that can be attached nearly 'invisibly.'

If this matters to you, look for "self-adhesive silicone bumpers." They are very inexpensive and protect the doors. However, you should clean the shelving unit thoroughly beforehand to ensure the adhesive sticks properly.

Hey :-)

I solved this myself using small foam door buffers. They are affordable, flexible, and easy to find in online stores like Amazon. They work great for the Kallax since they are barely noticeable and soften the door closing.

My recommendation: search for "self-adhesive foam door stoppers" and check the reviews – some models are really good at cushioning without damaging the doors.

This is brilliant! I specifically ordered rubber bumpers for Kallax on eBay. The cost was very low, around 4 euros for 10 pieces. These things hold firmly and even cushion impacts very well 🙂

Also: super easy to install, and if you want to rearrange, you can easily remove them. I’m really happy with them!
