TramoHello everyone, I am currently planning to buy some furniture from Ikea’s Platsa series for my home office. I came across the question of whether there are specific PLATSA furniture pieces that already include built-in storage or some kind of cable management solution for cables and power cords. I am looking for options where cables can be hidden and not hanging loosely behind the furniture. Does anyone know of such PLATSA modules or possibly accessories designed specifically for this purpose? I am mainly interested in furniture for shelves or cabinets that can neatly hold or guide cables without me having to drill extra holes or improvise. Thanks in advance for your help!
Ikea does not offer any specific PLATSA units with built-in cable management features. The series is modular and flexible, but cable management usually needs to be handled separately. Some users drill into the back panels or use cable clips and conduits that can be added additionally. For integration, third-party accessories or custom solutions are generally required.
As an addition: For a neat solution, cable ducts made of plastic or metal can also be installed on the inside edges of the modules. Routing cables behind the integrated back panels after drilling your own holes is also recommended. It helps to carefully plan the placement of devices and the cable paths before assembly. This prevents messy wiring.

As far as I know, Ikea’s PLATSA does not have any explicitly integrated cable channels or hidden storage for cables. Thanks for your quick responses! So there really is no off-the-shelf solution within PLATSA itself. I’m interested if anyone might have creative ideas on how to complement PLATSA furniture to achieve neat cable management without affecting the furniture’s appearance. I want to minimize improvisation since using cable ties and making DIY holes always feels somewhat temporary.
