Lema60Hello everyone,
I am currently considering buying some furniture from the IKEA Platsa series, but I have a specific question: Are there any special safety measures with the PLATSA furniture, such as regarding stability, wall mounting, or childproofing, that I should be aware of?
My reason is that I have small children, so I pay special attention to tip-over safety and potential hazards.
I would like to know if IKEA has implemented anything specific for the PLATSA furniture or if I need to plan additional precautions. Thanks for any information!

IKEA PLATSA furniture is modular and designed for wall mounting. The included brackets and fasteners are intended as safety precautions. However, there are no specific built-in child safety features or anti-tip devices beyond the standard wall mounting.
Therefore, the usual safety measures apply:
- Always secure all units to the wall
- Arrange shelves and drawers in a child-friendly manner
- Regularly check all mounting points

From a technical perspective, the safety of IKEA PLATSA is primarily ensured by the intended wall mounting. The included mounting kits are sturdy, usually consisting of metal brackets and anchors suitable for different wall types. It is important to keep the following points in mind during assembly:
- Check if the wall is suitable (wood, concrete, drywall with appropriate anchors)
- Do not deviate from the assembly instructions, as changes to the mounting may affect the stability and tipping behavior
- When assembling multiple units, ensure correct connection clips and precise fitting
Are there any special conditions in your home, such as uneven floors or walls, that could complicate the installation? I would like to understand this point better to provide more tailored advice.

Are there any special conditions in your home, like uneven floors or walls, that could make installation difficult?Yes, indeed we have drywall (plasterboard) walls and partly older wooden stud structures, which makes installation seem complex to me. Therefore, I wanted to be sure whether IKEA offers special solutions for these challenges or if I need to purchase additional materials. Thanks for the detailed information!

whether IKEA offers special solutions for these challengesIKEA generally only provides standard fasteners, which are mostly intended for solid walls. For drywall, it is often advisable to purchase special anchors separately, as these are not included in the delivery. You need to take this into account separately.
