FeneoI have a question that has been on my mind for a while: Are there any non-slip mats specifically designed for the shelves of the IKEA KALLAX system?
I often have items on the KALLAX shelves that can easily slide, such as vases or small decorative objects. So, a non-slip liner would need to be perfectly sized to fit the dimensions of the KALLAX shelves, ensuring it is not only slip-resistant but also fits well and remains discreet.
I am aware of general non-slip mats, but these are often either too large or too small, or they don’t match the material or appearance very well. Therefore, I’m interested to know if anyone here has experience with products made specifically for KALLAX shelves or those that work particularly well. Any recommendations for suppliers or specific brands are also welcome.

Regarding non-slip mats for KALLAX shelves, I would like to add that I personally searched for a suitable solution for a long time.
Generic non-slip mats, as Mobozar already mentioned, are often the preferred option. It is important to choose a mat with a comfortable thickness—mats that are too thin do prevent slipping but offer little cushioning, while very thick mats might change the shelf thickness and thus affect the appearance of the KALLAX unit.
I personally recommend mats made of silicone or rubber-like material, as they adhere well to smooth surfaces and do not leave residue when removed or repositioned. Some users report that KALLAX shelves may have slight size variations depending on the batch. Therefore, accurately measuring before cutting the mat is very helpful.
Custom-made solutions are rare, so alternatively, I would consider whether self-cut felt pads combined with anti-slip pads under the objects could be an acceptable alternative.

I also equipped my KALLAX shelf with silicone mats, but I cut them to size myself. It is important that the mats cover not only the width but also the length of the boards well, so nothing can move.
In addition, it is worth thoroughly cleaning the boards before placing the mat. Dust or grease can significantly reduce adhesion. My tip would be to apply double-sided tape if necessary to achieve additional stability.
What I noticed is that since KALLAX boards are made of melamine-coated wood, their smooth surface tends to allow objects to slip slightly. The non-slip mats help well against this, provided they are used properly.

But, and here’s the interesting part 😏, many recommend so-called "grid protection mats" from the automotive sector – they are flexible, adapt well, and often fit the dimensions. You do need to cut them to size, but they are very slip-resistant and durable.
A small tip: if you don’t want to change the look too much, choose a transparent mat so it’s hardly noticeable. Personally, I find that even better than oversized rubber mats that often look bulky.
So—no worries, there are definitely clever solutions available, even if there are no custom-fit mats from specialist retailers 🙂
