Hello everyone,
I am currently planning to better organize my IKEA Platsa drawers and wonder if there are any specific accessories or inserts designed for these drawers. Iâm not just looking for general drawer organizers, but custom solutions that are precisely tailored to the dimensions of the Platsa drawers.
Does anyone here have experience or tips on where to find such accessories, or if IKEA itself offers matching organizers?
I would appreciate detailed information, including measurements or materials, if you know of alternative solutions that fit well. Thanks in advance!

In my experience, the market for drawer inserts is extremely diverseExactly, I completely agree! đ
Sometimes, even simple, flexible dividers can be used very creatively, even if they donât fit perfectly. This often improves organization because you can customize it individually â thatâs how I do it!
Maybe someone in the forum has tips for DIY inserts or material sources?
Hello Mausau,
I would like to add that IKEA generally offers fewer accessories for the PLATSA system drawers compared to other series.
If you want to make the best use of your drawers, I recommend the following approach:
- Measure the interior dimensions of the drawers precisely (width, depth, height)
- Consider how you want to organize your items (e.g., cutlery, small utensils, folders)
- Then look for adjustable plastic inserts at hardware stores or flexible dividers at furniture stores
- For special needs, you can also cut sturdy partition walls yourself from wood or plexiglass
A tip: IKEA often sells small plastic boxes that work well as inserts â this is not a custom solution, but it is very flexible and affordable.

I can fully understand how important well-organized drawers are, especially with PLATSA and its large compartments.
What I have learned from my projects: patience when measuring and testing is incredibly helpful. Also, when purchasing inserts, always make sure they fit the height of the drawer.
A bit of frustration is normal when you canât find official add-on elements. However, you can often find drawer organizers in hardware stores or home goods sections that fit wellâjust not directly from IKEA.
Maybe someone has creative ideas for adhesives or assembly methods for DIY dividers?

Also make sure that with some PLATSA drawers, you cannot build them too high because of the sliding systems; otherwise, they get stuck when closing. Thanks for the tip, Gafiel, thatâs very important! Thatâs exactly why I want to know if there are already any IKEA internal solutions that are not too tall or that fit perfectly with the soft-close rails.
I do have some ideas but definitely donât want to damage or break my drawers.
Does IKEA offer any separate accessories like glides or inserts specifically designed for this purpose without affecting functionality?
Thanks also for the advice on materials! Who has experience with DIY inserts and how durable are they in the long term?

Are there any special accessories from IKEA, like glides or inserts, that are specifically designed not to affect functionality?I believe IKEA does not sell official accessories specifically for the PLATSA drawers.
However, I have had good experiences with regular dividers that I cut to fit.
As mentioned, it is important to pay attention to the height so the drawer does not get stuck.
You can attach felt pads to the wood or MDF panels; this allows for smooth sliding and prevents scratches!
