Hello everyone,
I am looking for a countertop for a bar. The side edges of the countertop should, of course, also be covered with the appropriate decorative material.
My question is whether this is the case with Ikea countertops, or if they only have the wood decorative surface on the front side and not on the wall side?

Thank you for your help!

At least for the Personlig countertops, you can specify which edges of the countertop should be finished with edging strips according to your needs. I don’t know how this is handled with the pre-made countertops.

Ok, I can’t find the PERSONLIG countertops on the website at all. But I assume these need to be ordered first!?

Basically, I was actually referring to the countertops from the Prägel series.

These are only edge-banded on the front side. However, there is still a piece left in the packaging. Otherwise, customer service can order more, but it will take longer as they have to be ordered from Sweden.

Mav, you are mistaken.

Standard countertops are ALWAYS fully glued around the edges. With Prägel, the front edge is rounded, and the rest is laminated flat, PLUS there is additional edge banding included in the package to cover any cut edges that may occur. For Numerär, apart from solid wood options, there is a polypropylene edge banding glued all around again, and there are also two extra pieces included, although these are not as thick as the original ones, but this is barely noticeable unless you know what to look for. Numerär countertops work particularly well as tabletops or bar counters.

Cheers.
