Hochglanz0124 May 2015 13:21Hello,
a question for the experienced ones.. 😀
My husband believes that you cannot install drawers in the tall appliance cabinet above the oven and similar appliances.
He thinks that the compartments above these heavy kitchen appliances, which are not fully recessed, do not meet the required drawer depth.
😕 😕 😕 😕
Is that really the case???
Many thanks for your help!!
Best regards,
Hochglanz

IKEA-Experte24 May 2015 21:18that the levels that are not quite so deeply recessedI don’t understand. You can install drawers, but whether they are still practical beyond a certain height is more of a question.

Hochglanz0124 May 2015 21:40Good evening,
my husband thinks that the tall cabinets for appliances in the appliance area have an open cabinet "wall." The heat generated needs to be vented, essentially a ventilation channel upwards! To maintain this "chimney," the back panel above the appliances would be moved slightly forward.
🙄
Therefore, my question is whether it is actually impossible to install drawers in this case?
If I stand next to the drawers, then it definitely makes sense.
Kind regards, Hochglanz

IKEA-Experte24 May 2015 22:21With Faktum, the back panel was positioned further forward. As far as I know, this is no longer the case with METOD. Instead, the shelves have a cutout at the back to allow air to circulate inside the cabinet. The drawers are only 54cm (21 inches) deep, so there is still enough space behind them. If in doubt, you can buy everything both with and without drawers and decide when the kitchen is almost assembled.

IKEA-Experte25 May 2015 13:19By the way, the tall Maximera drawer is also available in a depth of 45cm (18 inches). If you swap the drawer back panels, you can convert it into a low or medium-height drawer. So, if I want a normal-depth tall drawer in the base cabinet and a medium-height 45cm (18 inches) deep drawer in the tall cabinet, I buy the 45cm (18 inches) deep tall drawer and a normal-depth medium-height drawer.
Have a nice Whit Monday.
