Hello,

a question for the experienced ones.. 😀
My husband believes that you cannot install drawers in the tall appliance cabinet above the oven and similar appliances.

He thinks that the compartments above these heavy kitchen appliances, which are not fully recessed, do not meet the required drawer depth.

😕 😕 😕 😕
Is that really the case???

Many thanks for your help!!

Best regards,
Hochglanz

I would install them with the opening facing down 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 so you can see what’s inside. But seriously, what’s the point of installing drawers at 2m (6.5 ft) height or higher? Do you want to use a step ladder every time to look inside? Regards

Hello,

Well.. before I have to reach in at a height.. I'd rather stand beside it.. and pull out the drawer.. and take it from there. Instead of first clearing everything out from the front to get to the back. 😀

...

Oven – no problem
“and similar appliances” – what exactly does that refer to? 😕

Microwave – no problem

Refrigeration unit – problem, you need 200 cm² (31 square inches) of ventilation area, meaning the same cross-section as at the base ventilation opening

Oven/microwave aren’t a problem because the ventilation (heat dissipation) is at the front, so you can also install these appliances below the countertop, as offered by Ikea.

If you have third-party appliances, you should check this in advance.

Ergonomically..., well, I wouldn’t really do it that way
