ausbau202021 Sep 2022 12:20Hello everyone,
I have an entrance door in my apartment, brand Pertura from Hornbach.
It does not close or open completely correctly.
Here is the situation:
If I let the door "fall" into the latch, I still have to push it again from the inside or pull it from the outside to prevent it from popping open.
If I want to unlock the door from the outside using the key, I have to pull the knob towards me before I can turn the key.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with how to adjust the hinge properly or where to start.
I would really appreciate any advice or tips.
Here are 3 pictures showing the situation:

This is how the lock looks when the door contacts the frame before it snaps in.

I would have the person who installed it make the adjustments.
If that’s not possible (read and understand the entire text before taking any action 😉):
a) Open and remove the door from its hinges.
b) Loosen the hinges in the door frame (not the ones attached to the door leaf) by unscrewing the screws hidden behind the seal, and slightly pull the door out at the pivot point so that the gap between the door leaf and the frame increases. It’s useful to measure before and after; an adjustment of about 2mm (0.08 inches) is often enough to make a difference. To loosen the screws, try wiggling firmly or use a large flat-head screwdriver as a lever. However, place a piece of softwood or sturdy cardboard underneath first to prevent damage to the frame.
Warning: The screws securing the hinges cannot be turned endlessly in either direction! Handle with care. Only gentle force is needed.
This reduces some of the tension between the door leaf and the seal.
Note: This is a non-professional opinion. Professional input and advice are welcome to expand on this topic.

ausbau202022 Sep 2022 09:54Thanks, ibnan!
I tried it as you described, but it really didn’t get much better.
Just to be safe, I only adjusted by 1mm (0.04 inches).
Since the door is quite heavy, I’ll need to get a colleague to help with my next attempt... my partner is refusing after yesterday’s effort ;-)

Nice-Nofret29 Sep 2022 12:53With new doors, the sealing gaskets are still quite tight – so it’s worth living with it like this for a few weeks at first, as some things will improve over time.
