rerepinHello everyone, I am currently planning my new wardrobe and am particularly interested in IKEA Pax wardrobes. My specific question is whether there are any IKEA Pax options with integrated lighting that operate completely without visible cables or an external power supply. I imagine the lighting to be wireless, for example battery-powered or similar, and elegantly integrated into the wardrobe design. If anyone has experience with such solutions or knows any details, I would be very grateful. It is especially important to me that there are no annoying cables hanging around or needing to be hidden. Many thanks in advance for your tips and opinions!
Hi, based on my experience with this topic: IKEA offers various lighting options for Pax, but most of them are wired and require power from a wall outlet.
I once tried to integrate battery-powered lighting myself, and for that, you’re mostly looking at DIY solutions or third-party accessories. There are small LED strips powered by batteries that can be attached with magnets or adhesive tape—you can basically place these discreetly inside. Unfortunately, IKEA does not offer this kind of feature directly from the factory.
If you’re up for a bit of tinkering, this might be a good option for you—just a little tip on the side. Good luck with your project!

Your question is completely understandable; I have also tried to find a clean solution without cables inside the Pax wardrobe.
I can relate to this tip well. Sometimes it’s not that easy if you don’t want visible cables, especially when the power outlet isn’t nearby. I once bought a battery-powered light with a motion sensor, which is easy to install and provides pleasant lighting without the cable clutter.
In general, I also wish the manufacturer would offer an elegant, integrated battery version. That way, the wardrobe can be placed more flexibly and doesn’t require any installation.

Thank you all for your feedback!
I had a feeling IKEA doesn’t offer something like that as a standard product. I like the idea of retrofitting, but I have some concerns about durability and ease of use, especially since you often need access to the contents of the cabinet. A fully integrated solution with a rechargeable battery would, of course, be much more elegant.
I’m very interested in these kinds of lighting solutions. Could you please explain which models you used and how you integrated them into the Pax wardrobe? Also, how is the battery life and charging process? I want to minimize the effort involved in charging and avoid frequent battery replacements.
