Regarding common mistakes: Sometimes the carcass is assembled too early, without fitting the drawer slides first – this makes it difficult to align the slides precisely later.

Thanks for the tip, that makes sense. I had planned to fully assemble the cabinets and then install the storage systems. Maybe I’ll start by assembling just the frames and walls and then add the internal drawers step by step.

Thanks also for the heads-up. Are there any manufacturers you would recommend that offer good alternatives to Metod? The Ikea solutions sometimes seem a bit expensive for the size of the drawers.

Also, I’m interested in how you configure the drawers to combine deep storage with clear, shallow trays. I’ve read that it’s better to use wider drawers at the bottom and shallow shelves or trays at the top, but I’m not sure how this works best with Metod.
