ᐅ How does the retrofit of soft-close functionality work for IKEA PLATSA?

I am currently considering how to retrofit a soft-close feature on IKEA Platsa cabinets. Are there specific upgrade kits or mechanisms available that can be purchased and installed fairly easily? It would be important for me to know which parts are needed, whether the existing hinges need to be replaced or just supplemented, and which tools are typically required. I would also like to know if this affects the stability or the opening and closing behavior of the doors. Thanks for any helpful explanations or personal experiences!

For adjustment: Many soft-close hinges have screws for lateral and vertical alignment. Before tightening the soft-close hinges, install them loosely and then adjust the door so it closes without resistance but does not stick. After that, tighten all screws firmly.
Tools: Cordless drill with fine adjustment, and possibly a hex key if the hinge requires it.

Does anyone also know if retrofitting these might affect the warranty at IKEA?
For IKEA PLATSA, hinges of the "soft-close" type from the PLATSA series or sometimes the "Maximera Soft-Close" variant are compatible. The model numbers can only be found in the IKEA online store, as they correspond with the product descriptions there.
Important: These are 110° hinges, specifically designed for wooden doors with existing 35 mm (1.38 inches) diameter drill holes (for the hinge cup). Only these exact models fit without modification.
Regarding the warranty: Retrofitting the hinges with original IKEA parts, as far as I know, does not affect the warranty. However, if installed improperly and damage occurs as a result, the situation may be different.

Another tip from me: If you’re not sure, order just one set of the soft-close hinges first and try them on a door before replacing all the hinges on the whole cabinet! I even bought the right tool for adjusting the hinges, which helps a lot!
And don’t worry about mistakes—the upgrade is worth it because the closing action is just much more pleasant. Good luck, you’ve got this!

Furthermore, it is questionable whether the soft-close system on affordable IKEA cabinets will really hold up under long-term use. Retrofit kits that work more universally would certainly be more practical for users.

I thank everyone very much, especially for the tips on adjustment and tools. I will test it and then report on how well or poorly the retrofit process worked.
