Hello everyone, I am planning to buy some IKEA Brimnes furniture, mainly dressers and bed frames. Since these items are quite bulky and sometimes heavy, I would like to know how to transport Brimnes furniture safely—both in a personal vehicle and when using a rental car or moving truck. What are your experiences with securing the items properly, protecting them from scratches, and handling them during loading and unloading? Are there any special tools or techniques that have proven effective in preventing damage or accidents? I look forward to any helpful tips or personal experiences!
Are there really people who transport Brimnes furniture without any protection? I mean, the finish is quite delicate and the edges are very susceptible to dents. I take a different approach myself: I completely disassemble the pieces, wrap each panel individually in foam, and secure everything in the vehicle. It’s time-consuming, but for me, it’s the only reliable method. If you want to be absolutely safe, I think you shouldn’t transport anything fully assembled.

I completely disassemble everything, wrap each panel individually in Styrofoam, and secure everything in the vehicle. Wow, respect! 😄 For the very meticulous among us, probably the best tip. However, I think a bit of a blanket wrapped around it works pretty well too.

Take the furniture apart, wrap with blankets, secure with ratchet straps, done. That’s how I see it too. Sometimes it’s fine to take a more relaxed approach. 😉
