ᐅ Absolutely unhappy with the new paving, it doesn’t fit well – looking for advice

We started laying new paving at our 20-year-old house. I chose a gray mix made of concrete. Now part of it is installed, and it looks quite awful—probably also because the paving at the neighboring houses is already dull gray.
I actually like the paving, but right now it appears bright gray-blue. It just doesn’t fit at all—well, it’s not finished yet. The stairs will still get a stainless steel railing. But now, it might still be possible to change the choice. I didn’t want beige or red originally.
This paving will probably also become grayer and lighter over time, right?
Newly paved courtyard path with metal cover, planting bed on the right, blue car in the background.

Row of houses with red roof tiles; construction materials and parked car under wooden carport.

The rest of the surroundings seem to be in warmer tones (red roof, beige (?) facade, wooden structures), and now there is the cold blue paving. This obviously doesn’t quite fit, but I would also hope that it becomes less noticeable as it gets dirtier.

What kind of metal plate is that... right in the middle?

The facade is white but somewhat dirty from age. The wooden fence will be removed completely.

The wooden stakes in the emerging gravel garden go very well with the roof vents.
I find the small cobblestones/granite blocks from the neighbor appealing. Yours wouldn’t stand out as much and also wouldn’t be monotonous.
This won’t be a gravel garden. There will be a flower bed instead. Since it’s on the north side, unfortunately not much will grow there.

Oh, I see 🙂 Still, the façade looks warmer than pure white.

I actually didn’t really notice the fence. I was more referring to the wooden windows, the wooden door, the wooden element on the roof, the adjacent carport... all wood, all warm tones.

I also get the impression that the roofs play a big role as well. Personally, I would have chosen earth tones or sand colors combined with light gray. But yellow was off the table for you anyway 😉
