@Hausbau 55 cost around 200-250€ (220-275 USD). The meter is calibrated, although that is not the main issue here. The meter is an

Wow, 3x80A is a bit too much, isn’t it? 🙂

Just looking at the device, you can find one for around €40. The electrician simply connects it between the phases of the heat pump on a DIN rail.

Isn’t that a funding requirement nowadays? I think for us it was the BAFA funding that required it anyway.

We (3 people, 180 m² (1,938 sq ft), renovated 1960s building, living room temperature at 22-23°C (72-73°F), bathroom ≥23°C (73°F)) currently use 11-12.5 kWh per day. Outside temperature is around ±5°C (41°F) in the evenings, and the heater is often on then.

Isn't that a requirement for funding nowadays? I think the BAFA subsidy required it in our case.

The electrician installed it like that, so it doesn't really matter.

Isn't that still a prerequisite for funding nowadays? I think for us it was the BAFA funding that required it anyway.

BAFA does require a meter, but the internal one installed by the manufacturer (not calibrated) is sufficient.
