Hello,

I am currently reviewing the application form for the air-to-water heat pump subsidy from BAFA. There are quite a few details to consider, fill out, and provide.

Now, a heat pump quality check is also required after one year of operation. With a subsidy of €1300, an estimated €300-400 will probably be spent on that.

Has anyone here applied for the BAFA subsidy and can share how the process went and how smoothly everything was handled?

It raises the question of whether the effort is worth the subsidy.

That is not stated there – and I have it in writing from BAFA that the storage tank is not meant by that.

Wrong! The conditions also recognize the domestic hot water tank as a buffer. Only requirement: 30L (8 gallons) per kW of capacity.

Hello,

Sorry, but that is incorrect!
A domestic hot water tank is a domestic hot water tank.
A buffer tank is a buffer tank.
However, a hygienic tank is considered a buffer.

Actually, it is stated in the fine print in the attachment. I’m not allowed to link anything here. Just try searching for Bafa heat pump quality check.

Ah, I was looking at the funding application for a heat pump, not the application for innovation funding. Now I found it. Where did you get the costs for the quality check from?

May I ask which air-to-water heat pump you are installing to achieve an annual performance factor of 4.5?

We are considering using a Tecalor THZ 504 with inverter technology. BAFA provides a list of all supported devices. Without an inverter, it will likely be difficult to qualify for the regions.

When I enter the data into a seasonal performance factor calculator, I do not get a seasonal performance factor of 4.5. Or is this a renovation?
