Hello,
I have two questions that might seem a bit unusual.
First: I want to build a garden shed, underground in the garden, but so far it’s just a theory. I plan to use it as a space to stay in, maybe put a small TV inside or something like that. Would you recommend constructing the walls with bricks or simply using wood? My goal is to minimize heat loss, but I’m not sure how to achieve the best and most cost-effective insulation. Suggestions and ideas are welcome.
Second: If I build a barn/garage on a meadow, can it be assigned its own address so that mail can be delivered there, for example? The meadow is 50m (165 feet) behind the last house on our street, and the delivery vehicle can still drive up to the meadow.
I look forward to practical and factual answers.
Best regards

Address in the field? You will need a) a building permit / planning permission for the barn and b) to apply for a house number from your local authority (building department). All of this costs money.
Wooden shed underground: My first thought is that it will all rot away. Take a look at prefabricated bunkers – these are currently very popular in the US. Dig a hole – put the bunker in – cover the hole, and you’re all set.

Best regardsWell, I’m not sure you’re entirely serious here?! But I am curious, how old are you?
Just check your state building code or regulations—you will at least be required to have windows and two escape routes.
Using wood to catch something underground seems quite inappropriate.
Also, your construction will most likely have to comply with the energy-saving regulations. Have you given that any thought?
I’m not aware of barns or garages ever receiving a house number.

I’ve never heard of a barn or garage getting a house number.I haven’t heard of that either, but our self-service car wash at work has its own house number. So I wouldn’t rule it out. The number probably just needs to be applied for.
