Hello,

we have purchased a new semi-detached house and want to install indirect lighting in certain rooms.

Can anyone help us with how to build the indirect lighting ourselves, for example under the ceiling?

What is the easiest way to install indirect lighting during new construction?

We want to combine indirect and direct lighting depending on what is desired.

Ideas:
1. Wall-to-ceiling transition with a decorative molding and an LED strip behind it, illuminating the ceiling without being directly visible. Visually effective only in fairly high rooms.
2. Working with partial suspensions and illuminated recesses. I haven’t seen this done attractively in small rooms yet.
3. Wall or ceiling-mounted uplights in semi-enclosed or fully enclosed housings.
4. Track or cable lighting systems with fixtures tilting toward the ceiling.
5. Instead of indirect lighting, use diffuse light, for example with a backlit stretch ceiling or a daylight panel.

Thanks for your ideas.

The ceiling height is about 2.35m (7 ft 8 in) and the individual rooms or areas where I want the indirect lighting are rather small.

We had already imagined that the light sources (LED strips would be the only reasonable option, in my opinion) are hidden.

At 2.35 meters (7 ft 9 in), I would advise against having a continuous edge along the wall with LEDs behind it for indirect ceiling lighting – this makes the room visually deeper when the light is off.

Instead, work with diffusers rather than installed indirect lighting in small rooms. The light from an uplighter floor lamp is simple and very cozy – these are quite easy to find as freestanding lamps.

Ok, thanks.

So, it can be concluded that indirect lighting with LED strips is only possible using baseboards (or similar trim) under the ceiling or by installing a suspended ceiling with a gap along the edge for the LED strips.

Otherwise, you would need to use floor lamps, uplighters, etc.?

Pay attention to temperature development and, if necessary, its dissipation when using LED strips. Not all remain cool.
For half-shells, I would like to point out the material gypsum. It is as affordable as it is good.
