Who says shutters have to be fully closed? 🙂
Shutters just need to match the style of the house. They don’t have to, but then a lot of heat will come in. This is a typical issue with roller shutters in summer. Traditional shutters work more like tilted Venetian blinds; they keep things cool while still letting in plenty of light. But am I right in understanding that these are just decorative shutters, or can you actually open and close them? Either way, they definitely look great!

… … … … … … …Do you have special roller shutters or any tips and tricks? No, no special shutters. Ours are made of plastic. We lower them completely in time when the sun is shining. When we are at home, we open them to about 80%. Of course, only the shutters facing the sun. In the mornings and evenings, we let in plenty of cool air.
This way, we can really keep the temperature inside the house comfortable.

This way, we can really keep the indoor temperature quite comfortable. Yes, and that’s exactly what I meant. I’m home all day. If I lower the south-facing shutter only to 80%, it gets warm. If I close it completely, it gets dark. That’s where the shutters have the advantage.
