Dear forum,
we are currently planning the construction of our single-family house. Last week, I created an initial draft for the lighting and electrical installation, which I would like to share here for discussion.
Do you think I should reduce the number of recessed ceiling lights? Are the power outlets sufficient? I look forward to your comments!

A lot has already been said about the ceiling spotlights. They are a matter of personal taste. I would prefer ceiling lights along with wall or floor lamps.

The router will probably be placed in the office (upper floor), so I guess I’ll need an access point on the ground floor and on the terrace. Right? What is the reason for placing the router in the office? Your network cabling will converge at one point, and I would install the router there. What type of connection will you have? Fiber optic?
What kind of access point were you considering? Ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted? I prefer ceiling-mounted. In that case, the devices should support PoE, so you won’t need a power outlet at the access point.
Before deciding on spotlights, we looked at the lighting and shadows.
The result was that spotlights seemed too small to us and created light with harsh shadows.
We chose dimmable LED panel lights, adjustable from 3000 to 6000K, and fixtures with E27 sockets.
Pleasant light, no glare, no shadows.

A lot has already been said about ceiling spotlights. They come down to personal preference. I would prefer ceiling lights combined with wall or floor lamps. Yes, that’s correct. I have been advised by many not to skimp on electrical outlets, mainly to maintain maximum flexibility, not necessarily to have all of them permanently in use. Are there any average values or recommendations regarding the number of outlets relative to living area?

Pleasant light, no glare, no shadows. That sounds very interesting! Thanks for the tip!

Good question! We will get fiber optic, and the cabling will probably converge in the equipment room. So the router would likely go in the basement...
I still need to look into the access points more closely. I don’t even know what they look like. On the ground floor, we want a concrete ceiling. I would like to keep any holes in it to an absolute minimum.
