Bought a house, estimated the renovation budget plus 10-15% for inevitable extras, and we set aside 5000 EUR for the kitchen!!!!
That’s how it started... at first, I was in a bit of shock, but we still had time. First step: remove all the walls for a new layout—I need space...
Let’s start with the (according to the agent) move-in ready property. The small kitchen, just under 8 square meters (about 86 square feet), had its 1970s pass-through removed. The wall including the kitchen door is gone! The wall next to the cellar stairs is gone too! Actually, the entire slanted wall, nearly 7 meters (23 feet) high, removed completely...
The window had to go as well since we needed a different working height than the standard 90 cm (35 inches). New screed installed, we switched to underfloor heating, all electrical wiring and water pipes are new.
After almost six months, the realization slowly sank in: the kitchen budget will not exceed 5000 EUR, so we had to look for a used kitchen... something special, but very cheap.
The search criteria: within a 100 km (62 miles) radius, up to 1000 EUR, because I still want new appliances.

Yes, there will be a small table there as well, just for 2 people. We will have one custom-made.
The main dining table will be in the living room.

Yesterday, our kitchen was delivered and installed.
Unfortunately, the Siemens dishwasher could not be delivered on time due to the change in energy labels.
The kitchen is from Meda Küchen in Berlin, from the Häcker Classic Laser Soft series.
The fronts are aquamarine, and the carcasses, countertop, and backsplash are in graphite.
Really beautiful! We chose the same fronts a week ago—great to see them already “in action” here.

The color is excessively tightWhat do you mean by that? Is the color excessively firm?
Is the color excessively narrow?
Is the color excessively dense?
Is the color excessively taut?
Is the color excessively strained?
Sticking to one language completely would be much easier 🙄
It looks really cool. Respect!
What I always find missing in modern kitchens are the "practical little details" for all those daily tasks that repeat constantly.
I mean things like:
No edge around the sink, so crumbs and liquids can be wiped directly into the basin.
For me, the faucet should come out of the wall, so I don’t have to wipe around it all the time when cleaning.
The sink itself should be as rounded as possible inside, because that makes cleaning faster.
Sinks with sharp inner corners have the advantage that (for some) baking trays fit better inside.
I clean baking trays maybe once a week at most. I clean the sink itself many times daily.
Maybe this isn’t the right moment for such a comment, but I don’t mean it negatively—just as a tip for any home setup.
For me, the very first and most important thing is: it must be easy to clean. 😎

... and I’m also jealous of all that space 😉
