Yes, for us it’s around -16 degrees Celsius (3.2°F), and we’ve had many frosty nights, especially October, which was very cold. Temperatures are similar.

The cost was around 150€ including installation.

The meter shows the total consumption, so I can’t say exactly how much I used and how much came from the photovoltaic system.

No, we have a meter, but my heat pump communicates with the photovoltaic system. That way, I know quite precisely how much electricity it has received.

@Bookstar So how does the overall November look for you now?

I will turn on the underfloor heating tomorrow since the wood might only last until December, and we didn’t have any sun last week, with no sun expected next week either, to warm the rooms upstairs by 1-2 degrees. Currently, it is -8°C (17.6°F) and in recent days there have been subzero temperatures at night without any sun during the day. The temperature was 22°C (72°F) on the ground floor and 19°C (66°F) upstairs. It shouldn’t be any less than that now.

Since October 19th until early today, we have consumed just under 460 kWh of electricity. Unfortunately, I did not record the meter reading on November 1st. The temperature has been relatively consistent throughout the house, between 22-23°C (72-73°F).

You were right, November saw a significant increase in heating demand, with temperatures almost continuously below 0°C (32°F) in the second half of the month. We used 548 kWh in November, which at a rate of 0.21 cents per kWh equals 115 euros. That’s definitely reasonable.

Last year, we consumed 660 kWh during this period, and November was almost 1°C (2°F) warmer on average. Still, we achieved a 17% reduction compared to the previous year.

The COP was 3.8 during this time. I know there are systems that exceed 4, and I’m aware that my setup isn’t optimized for top performance. But at least I no longer have to be ashamed 😀. Everywhere in the house is comfortably warm, at least 22.5°C (72.5°F), except the bedroom at 18.5°C (65°F).

I could probably lower the heating curve a bit more. I haven’t used the wood stove out of laziness for the past few weeks (need to chop more wood first 😀). Also, the water temperature is set to 50°C (122°F), which leads to higher consumption.

But comfort is much more important to me, so I don’t mind if we use a bit more energy 🙂
