Hello,

I am facing a big puzzle: my laundry chute inlet shaft is now finished with fixed plaster and embedded edges, with dimensions length = 31cm (12 inches) and height = 28cm (11 inches).
Now I’m looking for an access door or something similar that I can install here. Unfortunately, all sizes I find are only 20x20cm (8x8 inches) or 30x30cm (12x12 inches). I just can’t find anything. I don’t mind if it’s metal, wood, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas for me?
Attached is a photo...

Open wall opening with green cylindrical core and surrounding white spiral (construction site).

Inside, it would also need to be lined because there is a 300mm (12 inch) diameter pipe installed and cut open.
Thanks,

How did the measurement of 31 x 28 come about?
If you want to buy something ready-made, I would look for an access panel, for example on Amazon. One with an internal dimension of 30 x 25cm (12 x 10 inches) might fit, leaving a 5cm (2 inch) border, and the entire opening would be covered.

A wooden construction would also be possible, but it requires some craftsmanship on your part. Alternatively, you could have one custom-made by a carpenter if you happen to have one available. This will cost accordingly but might look more attractive than a metal flap.

Wow, which clever fool from Schildburg came up with this ingenious design but then failed to think it through completely?

Well, I would personally build a nice wooden door for it. There are probably suitable cabinet doors in similar dimensions available at the blue and yellow Swedish furniture store.

If you want to buy something ready-made, I would search for an access panel (revision hatch) on Amazon, for example. One with an internal dimension of 30 x 25 could fit, allowing a 5cm (2 inch) frame, and the entire opening would be covered.

A wooden construction would also be possible, of course, but requires some carpentry skills on your part. Or it could be made by a joiner if you happen to have one available. That would cost accordingly but might be more attractive than the metal flap.

Unfortunately, I’m not finding anything either… usually only up to about 1cm (0.4 inch) clearance on each side.
