Hello,

I am facing a big puzzle: my laundry chute inlet shaft is now finished with fixed plaster and embedded edges, with dimensions length = 31cm (12 inches) and height = 28cm (11 inches).
Now I’m looking for an access door or something similar that I can install here. Unfortunately, all sizes I find are only 20x20cm (8x8 inches) or 30x30cm (12x12 inches). I just can’t find anything. I don’t mind if it’s metal, wood, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas for me?
Attached is a photo...

Open wall opening with green cylindrical core and surrounding white spiral (construction site).

Inside, it would also need to be lined because there is a 300mm (12 inch) diameter pipe installed and cut open.
Thanks,

I understand, but I wasn't referring to the dimensional deviation between target and actual. I meant the ingenious design concept of "putting the round part into the square one," leaving the person after me to figure out the T-joint connection.

Manufactured by the metalworker.

Niche in grey tiled wall with three white bottles, blue tube, and stainless steel cover.

Well, a simple door alone isn’t enough for this ‘brilliant’ design… it also needs internal components.

How do you imagine this?

How about B010M1RZH2 (Amazon)?

As an experiment, you could try to hire a locksmith or carpenter through MyHammer.

Tell me, if the opening is 28x30cm (11x12 inches), after installing a door you might be left with a 25x27cm (10x11 inches) opening. That’s smaller than an A4 sheet. And then the hole in the pipe: it’s only 20x20cm (8x8 inches).

You could barely fit a pair of socks through that... with pants, you’d spend 5 minutes fiddling to get them on...

I really don’t want to be harsh, but I think this is a) self-inflicted and b) everything will catch on the edges when thrown in. It’s probably a shaft spanning two floors, and this is the middle floor.

What on earth made you do that?!
