ᐅ Window sills: with or without drip groove?

Hello everyone,

I want to order granite sills. I have a brick facade with beige ceramic bricks.

Question about the drip groove on both sides, there will be a drip edge:

Is it practical or not?

The disadvantage I have understood so far:
aesthetic

The stonemason will do it for me free of charge.

Then my aluminum window sills would also have to have grooves. Is that now considered a defect?

The drip edge is designed to prevent water from running down the facade, and this works perfectly for the neighbors who also have no grooves.

You definitely want a groove on the underside of the front edge, so that water running around it is separated by gravity;
so what exactly is still unclear: an upstand running along the right and left edges of the window sill overhang on the facade?
