Hello everyone,
I would quickly need your assessment on whether the price is reasonable.
The kitchen, including stove, microwave, oven, dishwasher, and sink, is supposed to cost €11,850.
What is not included are the refrigerator, backsplash, and faucet.
Lowest online prices for the appliances compared to the kitchen studio:
- Stove €1,800. Studio price €2,050 including installation = okay
- Dishwasher €560. Studio price €565 including installation = okay
- Oven + microwave €1,120. Studio price €1,200 including installation
- Sink studio price estimated €500-600, since it is a ceramic sink
Total cost for appliances = €4,320-4,420 without refrigerator, backsplash, and faucet.
So my problem is not the electrical appliances.
Therefore, the pure kitchen furniture is supposed to cost about €7,600.
- Brand: Bauformat
- High-gloss lacquered fronts
- Worktop laminate with thick edging
- The island is 2.50 m x 1 m (8.2 ft x 3.3 ft)
- The kitchen run is 3.20 m (10.5 ft)
- High cabinet 1 m x 46 cm (3.3 ft x 18 in)
Attached are the pictures. Are the €7,600 for the kitchen furniture justified?
It’s a small kitchen studio with very good advice.

But I see so many YouTubers revealing their prices and getting so much more kitchen for the money.

Hi Alex,
It might be a bit of a luxury, but a good quality kitchen faucet also costs around 250-300€ (about 270-320 USD). I actually got mine for 250€ (about 270 USD), which was the cheapest price I found online. Plus, like with the microwave, I saved some counter space by not having an extra appliance lying around on the small countertop.
My wife only chose the color together with me; otherwise, I planned and coordinated everything. For her, the most important thing was that she liked it herself.
I have to say, if my wife had planned the kitchen alone, it would have cost about 5000€ (about 5400 USD) less.
Then there wouldn’t be any,
- built-in microwave -300€ (about 320 USD)
- convection oven -1500€ (about 1600 USD) since she wanted a ceramic cooktop
- only a standard oven instead -200€ (about 215 USD)
- side-by-side refrigerator -1500€ (about 1600 USD)
- no tall cabinet -800€ (about 860 USD)
- boiling water tap -600€ (about 640 USD)
I wouldn’t have been able to stand looking at such a kitchen in the open-plan living area for 20 years.
Thanks for reading

My parents bought an Alno kitchen in 1997 with a height of 87cm (34 inches). But... the kitchen still looks like new today. It’s incredible what quality that was/is.

yellow_ms21 Sep 2018 21:53We originally wanted an IKEA kitchen, but the 92cm (36 inches) height was really an issue. I was even considering a trip to Belgium because they offer higher legs for the Metod kitchen there.
In the end, we chose a kitchen showroom instead, mainly because we can provide the appliances ourselves for an additional €50 and have them installed. We're planning for a 95cm (37 inches) height or possibly even a bit more; this will be decided on site. At 87cm (34 inches), my back would already be hurting just thinking about it.
When I try to compare this with our prices—even though it’s difficult—I find the prices reasonable and realistic.

Our countertop is now 98cm (39 inches).
I really like it, finally I can cut and work without straining my back. Stirring longer in the pot will be interesting though – it definitely gives the arms a workout, which is also good.
I also find the price reasonable, as long as the materials are high quality and the coating or finish wraps around the edges and corners. From what I can tell about the manufacturer, it probably wouldn’t be much cheaper elsewhere.
