ᐅ Shoes on the patio – where to put them? Would a cabinet be a good solution?

Hi,
we are currently planning our terrace. Due to some unfortunate events, we haven’t managed to finish it yet, even though we have been living in the house for three years. Over time, I noticed that in summer we almost always leave our shoes next to the patio doors. Since these doors are in the kitchen and living room, I hadn’t originally planned any space for that. But as life goes, I’m afraid that won’t change anymore.
How have you handled this? Do you regularly take the shoes out of the hallway and put them away properly? Or do you have a cupboard in the living room where the shoes are stored? Maybe an outdoor cabinet directly on the terrace?

Exactly. Especially her. She always keeps her garden slippers by the back door. Why do you have the terrace connected to the living room instead of the utility room?
This suggestion really misses the point when someone asks about the most practical way to arrange things at the TERRACE DOOR.

So you’re already wearing those really ugly rubber shoes from Crocs and don’t even leave them outside? Why not?
They cost 20€ and thanks to their material, they don’t mind water at all, as long as any rain actually reaches the spot in front of the patio door.
.Crocs don’t tolerate sun exposure—they will shrink if exposed. They prefer to be kept in the shade.
Best regards,

Quick clarifying question to better understand the issue. Is it about "going out to the terrace to work and stepping in dirt / fetching firewood around the corner," or the normal use of the terrace, such as sitting outside, having breakfast, or sunbathing?
In the first case, put shoes on and off outside, then store them indoors. Since this happens relatively rarely, I find the effort of storing them manageable and not annoying. In the second case, I don’t really see the problem. Either I’m barefoot or wearing socks (our terraces are clean enough), or the shoes stay on (rarely). How do you handle this when you have guests? Do all shoes come off and stay outside?

ruppsn, you got it. It’s really not a problem. If there isn’t a back door with access to the utility room, you simply put dirty shoes on and take them off outside, then put them away. There’s no need to take off clean shoes.
At our place, we always wear shoes inside the house.
