ᐅ Looking for a creative architect to design a house for us.

Hello everyone,

We are already planning how our house should look (plot located in Baden Württemberg, facing southeast). But when it comes to drawing, I really have two left hands! I just can’t come up with any ideas on how to draw it. Building and hands-on work suit me better.

What we have so far doesn’t make me happy and doesn’t really impress me...
Everything looks somewhat copied, like “Here, take this.”
But I think you should enjoy living in your home for many years, feeling like “This is where I belong.”

If anyone knows a creative person who can help us with some drawings, I’d be happy to gather all the information and send it over.
(Plot plan, ideas, wishes, etc.)
We are planning about 70–80 sqm (750–860 sq ft) per floor, with two full stories.

Many thanks to the community here...

I think you simply don’t want to understand.
What you’re asking for is called a design.
Any architect will gladly create one for you, even 2 or 3 if you like.
Of course, they expect to be paid for it, since it can’t be done in just 10 minutes.
Usually, the process is that you agree on an hourly rate for the design. If a contract based on HOAI (official fee structure for architects and engineers) is then concluded because of a suitable design, the design costs will be credited.
It will cost you somewhere between a few hundred and a low four-figure sum if you ultimately don’t reach an agreement.

If you just want some creative input, start a proper thread here including the development plan / zoning plan, site plan, answers to the questionnaire, and possibly any existing designs as a basis.
kaho674 and a few others always have ideas. You still won’t get a finished design this way, but maybe you’ll get that bit of creative input you seem to be missing or unwilling to look for from an architect.

Now I understand why so many people here post only once and then never again... too many unnecessary replies from people who have nothing better to do, don’t read properly, or just want to show off...

I wouldn’t want to impose such a client on anyone I know.

Nobody asked you!!!! Please find some other hobbies.

I also have no idea what you’re looking for here.
- Do you already own a plot of land?
- Is there a zoning plan / building permit?
- Budget?

I wrote that at the very beginning... I can send everything.
But I don’t want to just post everything here.

I can tell that unqualified answers come up here as well.

Have you already looked for existing floor plans? There are countless floor plans from house providers in different sizes. You can look there and then adapt a suitable one to your own project.

Maybe too many... You don’t want to see my Pinterest... 🙂

If you want something unique, you have to search individually.
Good ideas don’t lie on the street, and nobody will just hand them over to you for free (especially not for beginners).

Where does it say we won’t pay???
And since the previous floor plans only seemed copied, I asked here...

I completely agree... that’s why I thought I’d ask here...

I think you can’t read!!!

No,... I want a drawing/sketch/idea... based on which I will send the related documents.
Please read carefully.

Finally a good answer!
Which questionnaire?
Example threads?

but apparently you can’t or don’t want to find this with an architect.

No narrow hallway wanted,... → drawing with bottleneck hallway...
Kitchen should be on the sunny side,... → kitchen on the shady side
Bedroom not next to kids’ room,... → right next to it, dressing room on the other side
Technical room in the basement,... → being drawn on the ground floor...

So don’t come at me with "you don’t want to find it..."
I have already drawn dozens of pages myself, but nothing that will make us happy for many years.

It’s nice that so much is posted here, but some should learn to read and give advice instead of making the thread starter look stupid!
I’m not an architect or builder, and I tried to keep my request pretty simple.
Tips would be welcome, not criticism...

Maybe you should listen to those here who have contributed more to the forum. Their experience is based on building their own homes and on knowledge accumulated here over several years.

And do you know how you come across here? You are new, you act like you know everything, and you seem very unsympathetic. Maybe it’s just my impression, but it appears I’m not the only one who thinks this way.

Somehow, it doesn’t quite add up yet.

Somehow it just doesn’t quite fit together.

It may seem that way, but it’s not true...
I’ve been reading here for a "few days"... previously without registering...
I also appreciate long-term involvement...

Now I post something and immediately get only critical replies...
People don’t read properly or just add their unsolicited opinions...
How is one supposed to feel? Warmly welcomed?
Something like "hey, what are you expecting," "this is how others do it: *Link*," "here’s the form for your property/house data"... would have been possible.

In other forums I visit for different topics, that’s how it works...
Here, it’s like the heavy hand comes down and you’re supposed to smile...

Further discussion gladly via PM, for anyone who wants an honest conversation...
Or an example of how something like this should be posted here.

Just for a rough orientation regarding what you are looking for here.

In my view, at least service phases 1 and 2, and I have roughly estimated the construction costs.

For this, the architect provides a basic evaluation, some preliminary sketches, and a rough cost estimate.
