Hello everyone,

We are already planning how our house should look (plot located in Baden Württemberg, facing southeast). But when it comes to drawing, I really have two left hands! I just can’t come up with any ideas on how to draw it. Building and hands-on work suit me better.

What we have so far doesn’t make me happy and doesn’t really impress me...
Everything looks somewhat copied, like “Here, take this.”
But I think you should enjoy living in your home for many years, feeling like “This is where I belong.”

If anyone knows a creative person who can help us with some drawings, I’d be happy to gather all the information and send it over.
(Plot plan, ideas, wishes, etc.)
We are planning about 70–80 sqm (750–860 sq ft) per floor, with two full stories.

Many thanks to the community here...

just looking for someone who might want to get creative (doesn’t have to be an architect)

So you basically mean creativity as in making the design have some “pop.” Does it not matter if the authorities later say, “Sorry, the eave height doesn’t meet requirements”?

They might be happy with two or three green bills, depending on your answer to “do you need an invoice?” ;-) but not based on how much they like it, rather payment upfront.

What terms (fee / number of proposals) are you actually expecting?

You got it... Since I wrote at the beginning that I will send the relevant documents... And as I know what we are allowed to build, the eaves height is almost insignificant to me. What matters to me are the floor plans...
Besides, I’m not too worried about the official matters.
Why? Private matter...

That needs to be settled privately. But that’s why I’m asking... If anyone knows someone and thinks, “Wait... that person is really good at this and has a knack for it.”

But I already explained all that at the start.

Please only leave answers that help us.

Thank you

Anyone who knows such a person would certainly not share their contact details without first confirming that their skills are properly compensated.

I do not wish to help you.

I was not looking for know-it-all answers

I would not want to put a client like that on any acquaintance either.

I have no idea what exactly is being asked here.
- Is the plot of land already owned?
- Is there a zoning plan or building permit / planning permission?
- What is the budget?

Without this information, it doesn’t make sense to start working on a plan. Of course, it’s fine to think about what you might want. But if you don’t even know the orientation of the plot yet, how can you plan anything? Many people here invest a lot of time trying to help, but that only makes sense if there are already some concrete details.

Have you looked for existing floor plans? Especially from house suppliers, there are countless layouts available in different sizes. You can browse through these and adapt a design that you like for your own project.

If you’re really looking for an individual or creative house, as said, it doesn’t make sense to plan without knowing the plot, since it’s always an interplay with the site. Also, custom designs always cost more, so it’s important to set a budget beforehand.

If you want something truly unique, you have to search individually.
Good ideas are not just lying around, and nobody will simply hand them to you (especially not for free).
Drive around and look at houses. Ask who designed or built them if you like what you see. Search online for architects who create designs that might appeal to you.
Usually, there is a more challenging path ahead of an innovative house than just walking into a prefab home supplier and choosing something from a catalog...
