We are planning a bungalow.
Our builder has offered 1500 € for installing a relatively good satellite dish on the roof.
What do you think of this offer? If I do it myself, what would the cost be?
What is your suggestion?

Best regards

Certainly all compliant with standards. And everyone has a photo.
Multi-story residential building with many balconies, laundry, furniture, and satellite dishes.

I wouldn’t bet on that, because even for non-earth bonding required exterior antennas, a lightning protection system may be required according to IEC 60728-11.

With the tons of standards listed here for installing a satellite dish, it's no surprise that nobody manages to do it perfectly by the book. The creators of such complex guidelines should critically reconsider what the actual goal of all this really is.

For grounding and equipotential bonding of antennas, the primary references are the publications of IEC 60728-11, German classification DIN EN 60728-11 (VDE 0855-1).

The changes that have occurred over decades, unlike other parts of the standards series for antenna systems, have remained fundamentally stable and comparatively straightforward to understand. This makes the knowledge gaps of many electrical fitters, my fading radio technician guild, and also of electricians and IT specialists all the more incomprehensible.

Expertise is certainly not gained through broad verbal criticism of standards with which one has not previously engaged. The installation of standards-compliant antenna systems is not rocket science.

Your explanations read quite differently.
Besides, I am not aiming to build expertise in this field. In my view, a satellite antenna is a rather simple matter, and frankly, I get quite dizzy reading your comments on the topic.

Then try reading the VDE regulations on other subjects. What do you think will happen to you then?
