Hello everyone

My room is 236 cm (93 inches) high and I would like to install a 236 Pax wardrobe. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks and regards

that won’t work...
you should have a few centimeters of clearance above (about 10cm (4 inches)).
after assembling the cabinet, you have to tilt it from bottom to top at an angle to set it upright.

Ikea states:
“Minimum required ceiling height: 237 cm (7 ft 9 in).”

how is that supposed to work?
especially since the assembly instructions mention 244 cm (8 ft).

okay, just checked again...
with a second helper and assembling it directly in a vertical position, 237 cm (7 ft 9 in) is just enough. but it will be very tight...
if necessary, you could carefully trim 1-2 cm (0.5-1 inch) off the base evenly.

Hello,
one helper – with a ladder – will be enough...

Hello

I have installed my 2x100cm (2x39 inches) wide and 236cm (93 inches) high Pax wardrobe (with sliding doors) in a room with a ceiling height of 237.5cm (93.5 inches).

According to the IKEA instructions for standing assembly.

Here are some tips that might make the installation easier:
Attach the supports for two shelves to the walls during wall preparation.
After assembling the cabinet walls, I would hang the shelves in, as this stabilizes the wardrobe for installing the Pax back panel.
For the standing assembly of the cabinet and attaching the back panel, I recommend two helpers.

Be careful with the holes drilled in the wall for the wardrobe anti-tip bracket; in my case, this was exactly at the height of the electrical cables running inside the wall just below the ceiling.
I installed the anti-tip bracket about 15cm (6 inches) lower and drilled two new holes for it in the back panel.

Sliding doors can be inserted from the side; for this, a door stopper on the track rail needs to be unscrewed.

Otherwise, just follow the assembly instructions. It’s not that difficult.

I shortened my Pax by 4 cm (1.5 inches) from the bottom during the move because the room was 2 cm (0.8 inches) lower than the wardrobe. I was able to use the extra 2 cm (0.8 inches) well; otherwise, it would have been tricky in some places.

I skipped the tip-over protection, of course. For heights below 2.44 m (8 feet), the ceiling takes care of that.
