Hi!

I recently replaced my electric stove with a wood-burning stove. A friend helped me connect it. However, the fire keeps going out unexpectedly. You can probably imagine what happens next—it starts producing a lot of smoke! I have no idea what might be causing this. At first, the fire burns strongly, and then suddenly it just dies out...

Best regards,
sennor 😕

Hmm, I would spontaneously guess that something is wrong with the ventilation. In a stove / oven like that, there has to be a specific air circulation to ensure the fire burns steadily and efficiently. Something is probably not right with that.

Hi,
what I don’t understand is why it works perfectly sometimes, and then doesn’t at all. I would understand if there were always problems, but that’s not the case. Most of the time, the stove draws really well.

Then I would guess either poor-quality wood OR that it simply happens sometimes that the ventilation holes in the wood are blocked and sometimes they are not, so sometimes air passes through well and sometimes it doesn’t. But I’m not very familiar with this, it’s just a guess.

Hi!

Yes, I think I will probably have to consult a professional for this. It is simply very dangerous when the fire in the stove goes out and all the smoke starts escaping. But thank you for your efforts!

Hi sennor

I just thought of something that might be the cause. Do you live in a two-story house, and is it possible to heat the lower floor as well? One thing is certain: the issue must be with the venting.
