I recently replaced my electric stove with a wood-burning stove. A friend helped me connect it. However, the fire keeps going out unexpectedly. You can probably imagine what happens next—it starts producing a lot of smoke! I have no idea what might be causing this. At first, the fire burns strongly, and then suddenly it just dies out...

Bauarbeiter14 Jul 2008 14:36Hmm, I would spontaneously guess that something is wrong with the ventilation. In a stove / oven like that, there has to be a specific air circulation to ensure the fire burns steadily and efficiently. Something is probably not right with that.

Bauarbeiter14 Jul 2008 19:45Then I would guess either poor-quality wood OR that it simply happens sometimes that the ventilation holes in the wood are blocked and sometimes they are not, so sometimes air passes through well and sometimes it doesn’t. But I’m not very familiar with this, it’s just a guess.
