karl.jonas25 Jul 2022 14:44Hello,
I have my floor plan ready, and now the installations need to be planned. Besides DIY and "the installer will do it," there are certainly specialized planning firms as well. Are these also available for a standard single-family house? If so:
(The reason for my question is a service offer for "distribution planning for smart home control" that I happened to see today at voltus. I will post similar questions regarding "water" and "electrical" with the colleagues.)

- What are the pros and cons of having such a provider handle the planning?
- What is the typical cost range (single-family house without many extras)?
- Which companies can you recommend?

The practicality of any plan also depends on the technology used for its final implementation. For that reason, I would not delegate this to a third-party company.

Let me guess: floor plan is DIY? The floor plan went from "family" to "architect," back to "family," then "architect," and finally to the building authority (building permit / planning permission). The preliminary result is this floor plan for age-appropriate living (new build) in an old farm complex.

Because you trust my competence more than a specialist company? 🙂 Or because every licensed electrician can do it just as well? (It’s my first house, but unfortunately not for an enemy).

When you meet with the kitchen supplier, you plan the sink and the dishwasher for the kitchen together. After that, the water connection is determined in a sensible way. The same applies to all electrical connections in the kitchen.
It’s the same for the bathroom. Connections go where you want the washbasin/shower/toilet. How the plumber then routes them there is up to them.
