Hello everyone, I am planning to remodel my Ikea Hemnes wardrobe soon, specifically to adjust the doors and the interior layout. Before I get started, I want to make sure I have the right tools on hand. My question is: What tools are ideally needed to professionally remodel an Ikea Hemnes wardrobe? I am interested in the basic toolset as well as any helpful specialized tools that could make the remodeling easier. Tips on tool brands or experiences with certain devices are also very welcome!

For cutting, I recommend a fine-tooth handsaw, as it provides clean cut edges. That sounds reasonable. I have read that some people also use a table saw, but I don’t have access to one. Would a handsaw combined with sandpaper be sufficient to achieve a visually appealing finish, including on the edges? I want to treat the wood not only functionally but also keep it looking good.
A fine-toothed hand saw combined with fine sandpaper (grit 180-220) is sufficient for clean and visually appealing cuts and finishing. For edges, an edge protector or furniture molding can also be used to cover and protect the cut edge. While a table saw provides cleaner cuts, it is not strictly necessary for private renovations.

Are specific screws or tools useful here?Which screws are most suitable largely depends on the material of the back panel. Is it hardboard or particleboard? For thinner hardboard panels, pre-drilling with a countersink drill bit is recommended to prevent the wood from splitting. Alternatively, so-called furniture back panel nails can be used, which can be inserted and removed more quickly if you plan to take off the back panel frequently.
