Hello everyone, I am currently planning to assemble my new Ikea Hemnes shelving unit and want to prepare as well as possible in terms of tools. I am particularly interested in which tools are truly recommended for assembling Ikea Hemnes furniture, as I want to avoid buying or using unnecessary tools that might be ineffective or complicate the process. It would be great if you could share your experience or knowledge about which screwdrivers, possibly Allen keys, cordless drill settings, or other tools you would recommend. Are there any special tips on tools that make assembly easier, common pitfalls, or tools to avoid? Thanks in advance!

Pre-drilling for Hemnes furniture could actually take more time and complicate the process without much benefit. Still, you can always try to be a master craftsman if you feel like it.

sancamille5 Jun 2021 11:38A cordless screwdriver with torque control, a good Phillips bit, and the Ikea hex key are sufficient. A hammer is only needed for wooden dowels. Please avoid unnecessary tools to prevent errors caused by too much equipment.
