I am planning to redesign my bedroom and want to use BILLY shelving units from IKEA because they are versatile and relatively affordable. For this room, I am looking for specific recommendations on which BILLY shelves are particularly suitable for the bedroom—especially regarding size, color options, and possibly matching doors or accessories to keep the storage organized without looking too bulky.

It would be helpful if you could share your experiences with which versions you use or recommend so the bedroom doesn’t feel cluttered but still provides enough space for books, clothing, or decorations. What works really well are the white BILLY units with glass doors. They make the room feel cozy while still allowing you to see what’s inside. Simply brilliant if you want to display some decorative items but avoid dust.

I put two 80x202 cm (31.5x79.5 inches) units side by side and added glass doors – looks very elegant and offers tons of storage for all kinds of things (books, cushions, decorations).

A tip: use the small LED light strips inside the shelves. It’s not only practical if you’re searching for something in the evening, but it also creates a really pleasant atmosphere.
