The mattress protector SKYDDA LÄTT (90x200 cm (35x79 inches)) priced at €4.99 is advertised in the current catalog, but you cannot actually buy this item. This is extremely disappointing.
Not even a replacement product at the same price for the mattress protector is available at IKEA Nuremberg.
This is what you call customer-unfriendly.
Unfortunately, I had to bike 20 km (12 miles) back home without this item.
On my way home, I passed by Matratzen Concord and, lo and behold, I got a mattress protector there. It is a bit more expensive, but at least I have one.

Ikea – customer-unfriendly
Ikea – advertised products not in stock
Ikea – consumer laws/rulings are disregarded.

NEVER IKEA AGAIN.

Look at it this way – 20 km (12 miles) is not really a long distance – so it was just light exercise. 😀 – and that never hurts…..

I’m currently wondering if I feel the need to rant about a well-known sports retail chain. The salesperson managed to chew gum so loudly and with his mouth open that I had to walk away, leaving my husband alone (just briefly, of course ;.))))). On top of that, he clearly had no idea what he was talking about... 😀
But oops – that’s something I should address directly with the specific sports store, since anything else wouldn’t help – except that I’ve just vented a bit here...
By the way, I do have a mattress protector – of course, from Ikea. 😀

... something is definitely coming!!!

"Ikea - consumer laws/judgments are not being respected"

The current 2010 catalog, “… valid until Aug 27, 2010,” has a small mistake.
The "from ..." is missing.
If the valid period is not clearly stated as "from – until," how is the customer supposed to know when the catalog starts being valid?
In this way, Ikea bypasses the minimum one-month advance notice required for products.

The best part is that I was at Ikea Fürth about 14 days ago. I wanted to buy two mattress protectors SKYDDA LÄTT (90x200cm (35x79 inches)) for €4.99 each. The staff member from the relevant department told me the item was currently out of stock but would be available again in about 14 days. I asked if there was an equal or higher-quality replacement for the unavailable item. The answer I got was, "there is no replacement." But that’s not true; there is a replacement: SKYDDA HÖGT mattress protector 90x200cm (35x79 inches) priced at €14.99 each. I would have accepted just one replacement mattress protector.
That would have been fair from both me and Ikea. I would have left as a satisfied customer.

Hello user Rebecca

You are right about cycling 20 km (12 miles); it was nice exercise, and I even passed by the Greuther tea shop (Martin Bauer) at the Fürth stadium. Since I was already out there...

It’s just frustrating. You go to Ikea, and then they don’t have the advertised product...

P.S.:
Matratzen Concord is a mattress specialty store chain, not a sporting goods store chain. Just a side note.
