Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Malm bed from IKEA, but unfortunately, the drawer slide is partially damaged and some screws are missing. Now I’m wondering where I can find suitable replacement parts for Malm furniture. Are there official spare part sources from IKEA, or would you recommend third-party suppliers instead? It is important to me that the parts are genuine and fit without any problems, as I don’t want to have to experiment with incompatible accessories. Does anyone have experience with specific shops or databases that offer replacement parts specifically for Malm furniture? Thanks in advance for your tips and advice!

I take a pragmatic view: IKEA isn’t the only source, and if you only need spare parts, you don’t have to bother half the furniture store.

I have often bought non-original parts that were much cheaper and fit really well.

Of course, there are cases where original parts make sense, but honestly: most of the time, a suitable part that isn’t IKEA-branded works just fine.

And you can get those much faster and cheaper!

I really like the guide and will follow that approach. The numbering especially helps me keep track.

I will start by documenting everything: product numbers, defective parts, measurements. Then I will contact IKEA customer service to see what is officially available. If there are limitations there, I will look into the recommended stores.

I’ll get back to you once I have feedback – maybe I can provide a complete summary of the process here.

Until then, thank you for the constructive advice and the friendly atmosphere in this group 🙂

That sounds great! I’m looking forward to hearing how it goes. In my case, reordering not only saved the furniture but also motivated me to do more DIY projects. If you need any help with the order, just let me know here.

Good luck and have fun with the repair! 🙂
