ᐅ What type of lighting is suitable for Ikea PLATSA shelving units?

Hello everyone, I am currently planning to equip my Ikea Platsa shelves with suitable lighting and am unsure which type of lighting would be best for this. Important factors for me are easy installation, pleasant light color, and sufficient brightness without glare or excessive heat. Does anyone know of suitable LED solutions that can be well integrated into or onto the shelves? Are there also any recommended mounting systems or power supplies that are compatible? For PLATSA, I recommend LED strips with warm white light. They are easy to stick on, have low heat output, and provide sufficient lighting. It is best to get the power supply and connector separately.

For lighting Ikea PLATSA shelving units, LED strips are the best choice due to their flexibility and efficiency. It is important to choose a color temperature between 2700K and 3000K to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Additionally, the lighting should be dimmable to allow adjusting the brightness depending on the use. Installation is ideally done using 3M adhesive tape on the back of the shelves or with small clips if available. Power supplies with surge protection increase safety. Alternatively, there are specially integrable modules from third-party suppliers that are well rated on the market.

Is one power supply unit sufficient, or should multiple units be used?

It is best to run the cables behind the shelves; PLATSA often has small gaps or back panels where cables can be securely fixed with cable clips.
